1978 -About
Jeremiah Evans (b. 1978), a native of Dallas TX, graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1996. As a piano performance major at Texas Tech University he was awarded the Donald S. McNair Music Scholarship. Jeremiah Evans has studied piano with Dr. David Karp and Dr. William Westney. He has won awards from numerous piano competitions including the Richardson Symphony Orchestra/ Lennox Young Artists’ Competition and the Baylor/ Waco Piano Competition. He has also performed and studied at summer music festivals and workshops including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Round Top Music Festival and at the Juilliard School of music in New York City. An accomplished composer, Jeremiah Evans has studied music composition and music theory with noted American composer Dr. Mary Jean Van Appledorn. His music has been performed in recent seasons by Steinway artist and Cambria Records recording artist, Althea Waites on both the east and west coasts of America. He currently resides in Oak Cliff, Texas.
