Brandon J. Spencer (b. 1992) was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. A 2016 graduate of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Spencer received a B.A. in music with a concentration in vocal performance. As a member of the Claflin University Lyric Opera, Spencer performed the roles of Balthazar and Melchior in Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Spineloccio, Pinellino, and Il Notaio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and Bob in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief. He has also been the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah. Spencer has also had the privilege of participating in master classes with such distinguished artists as Denyce Graves and George Shirley. In 2015, Spencer became a published composer when Colla Voce Music, LLC published his composition Gloria for mixed voices. For his music, contact brandonspen@gmail.com
